Hello there…

…And a big gigantic WELCOME to my brand sparklin’ new blog!  I’m super excited to finally get this going – I’ve been thinking about and planning a blog for about a year now, but it has finally happened!  Capturing His Light as a blog will have several purposes, but the absolute most important is to give God glory for everything and in everything that I do.  Keep me accountable for this, if you don’t mind!  If I post something that dishonors Him in any way or leads one of my brothers or sisters in Christ to stumble, please, please, PLEASE let me know.  I can’t do this in my own strength – humans are fallible and we need God and each other to stay on the right path.

As I was looking up Scriptures to use as my motto for the blog, I came across 1 Corinthians 4:6.  “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”  Wow.  God has given us, in our hearts, light of the knowledge of His glory.  THAT is the light I want to capture!  So here I will be sharing my “musings” – the lessons God has been teaching me, the questions that linger in my mind, and the issues that have been on my heart.

I am also planning on posting family updates and my latest photography experiments!  This thirteen-member family is always busy, so I will have no lack of subject matter.  🙂  As for pictures, they will hopefully accompany most, if not all, of the update posts.  You can’t go wrong with 10 awesome siblings to photograph!  Of course, an occasional photography post is bound to show up, too – those will be fun!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this!  Feel free to subscribe and comment as often as you want – it truly will make my day.  🙂
